To reduce the recurrence of these urinary stones, this food has a reduced magnesium content Since struvite stones form in an alkaline urinary environment, this food contains DL-methionine, which can acidify the urine Cats often suffer from urinary tract diseases( FLUTD), and struvite stones are the most common type of bladder stones in cats. Alkaline urine, too little water intake or a high magnesium content in the urine can cause struvite stones (also called triple phosphate stones) to develop. Smilla VET Urinary is a dietetic dry food that has been developed with veterinarians. It can help to prevent the recurrence of struvite stones.
